The 2026 KTH Royal Institute of Technology 3+2 Bachelor-Master Double Degree Program is now open for application.  Please read the following information carefully.

1. Program Information

1) Basic Information of KTH

Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH), founded in 1827 and located in Stockholm, is Sweden's most prestigious university dedicated to science and technology, a top-ranking European institution and one of the world's top-100 universities. In the QS World University Rankings 2026 KTH is placed 78th globally; Mechanical Engineering ranks 25th, Materials Science 29th, Electrical & Electronic Engineering 33rd, Civil & Structural Engineering 43rd, and Computer & Information Systems 69th.

2) Program Introduction

a. Arrangement:

Undergraduates who successfully complete the first three years at HITSZ and pass KTH's assessment may enter KTH for the following two years of study.  Upon fulfilment of HITSZ's requirement, students will be awarded a HIT Bachelor's degree; upon fulfilment of KTH's prescribed master's curriculum, students will be awarded a KTH Master's degree.

b. Time-line:Students will start studying at KTH from the autumn semester in 2026.

c. Language of instruction: English.

d. Costs (approximate)

· Application fee: 900 SEK (≈ 650 RMB)

· Tuition: ≈ 180,000 SEK/year (≈ 130,000 RMB); final amount subject to KTH notice

· Living expenses: 10,584 SEK/month (≈ 7,800 RMB), broken down as meals 2,000 RMB, accommodation 3,500 RMB, transport 500 RMB, internet 500 RMB, others 1,300 RMB

· Scholarships: Highly competitive; only about 7 % of applicants received a KTH scholarship in previous years

e. Eligibility

① Applicants: Currently enrolled Year-3 undergraduates in relevant engineering majors (see Annex 1 for detailed majors).

② English: TOEFL ≥ 90 (writing ≥ 20) or IELTS ≥ 6.5 (no sub-score < 5.5).  Students who have not yet met the requirement may still apply, but must upload valid scores in the Swedish national admission portal no later than 2 February 2026 (Swedish time).

③ Academic: Recommended GPA ≥ 75/100.

④ Credits: All compulsory courses of the first three years must be completed.  General-education credits should reach the recommended total for the first three years; any deficit may be made up via approved MOOCs before departure.  The final general-education record must satisfy both university and programme requirements.

f. Application deadline: 3 December 2025 (within HITSZ)

2. Application Procedure

1) By 3 Dec 2025, log in to the 'Undergraduate & Graduate Teaching Management and Service Platform', submit the internal application (see Annex 2 for instructions).  After submission, contact your school's academic secretary and counsellor for approval and track the progress.

2) ALSO by 3 Dec 2025:

· Register and submit your application on the Swedish national portal (https://www.universityadmissions.se/intl/start) and pay the 900 SEK application fee.

· Fill in the on-line sheet https://www.kdocs.cn/l/cq4HveGkqml2 ; this list will be sent to KTH for screening.

3) Attend the 2026 KTH Information & Q&A session on 17 December 2025, 12:30–13:30 (venue to be announced in the WeChat group, wechat group code attached at the end of notice).

4) Admission is determined solely by KTH.  Within one week after you receive KTH's offer, upload the electronic admission letter to the HIT 'Undergraduate & Graduate Teaching Management and Service Platform'.

[Important reminders]

a. Read the step-by-step guide and FAQ on the websites before applying.

b. Choose programmes that match your background; each student may apply for a maximum of four master's programmes at KTH.

c. You may upload or update transcripts (including the 5th Semester results) and English test scores until 2 February 2026 (Swedish time). The earlier the application is submitted, the higher the admission chance.

d. Since the national portal is used by all Swedish universities, applicants will receive an automatic reminder to upload a bachelor's degree certificate.  KTH will screen 3+2 candidates separately based on the on-line sheet mentioned above; therefore 3+2 students MUST complete both the portal application and the sheet.

3. Other Notes

1) Transcripts, enrolment certificates and ranking certificates can be printed at the self-service kiosks in the lobbies of Buildings T3, T4 or A.

2) Before leaving campus you must:

· obtain departure approval from your counsellor;

· read and sign the 'Off-Campus Exchange Acknowledgement';

· complete the off-campus exchange procedures (http://due.hitsz.edu.cn/info/1084/3845.htm);

· purchase medical and accident insurance covering the entire exchange period;

· continue to pay HIT tuition while abroad if any.

3) After obtaining the KTH transcript/certificate, fill in the 'Credit Transfer Form for Exchange Study' (Annex 3), obtain your school's dean's signature and submit the form to Academic Affairs Office (Room H612) for credit recognition.
